Akhasheni is a semi-sweet wine made from Saperavi grapes cultivated in the Akhaseheni vineyards, which are located in Kakheti’s Gurdzhaani district.

Alazani (semi-sweet)

The red Alazani is a semi-sweet wine made from a blend of Saperavi (60%) and Rkatsiteli (40%). The grapes are grown in the Alazani river valley, where the warm climate makes the grapes sweeter.

Barakoni (semi-sweet)

Barakoni is a semi-sweet wine with a light-ruby color and a violet fragrance. It is made from Alexandreuli and Mudzhuretuli grapes grown on the steep slopes of the Rioni gorge. When it is ready to be drunk, it has 10-12% alcohol, 1.5-2.5% sugar and 5-7% titrated acidity.

Khvanchkara (semi-sweet)

This is a semi-sweet wine made from Alexandria and Mudzhuretuli grapes grown in the Khvanchkara vineyards in Racha. The taste is strong and distinctive, with hints of raspberry. This wine has been made since 1907. Khvanchkara bottles tend to be comparatively expensive.

Kindzmarauli (semi-sweet)

This is a semi-sweet wine with a dark-red color. Made from Saperavi grapes grown in Kakheti’s Kvareli district, this wine was first created in the early 1940s. With its harmonious and velvety taste, it has won awards in several international contests.

Mukuzani (dry)

This is an award-winning dry wine made from Separavi grapes grown in Mukuzani in Kakheti. After fermentation, the wine is matured for 3 years in oak.

Pirosmani (semi-sweet)

Ojaleshi is a semi-sweet wine made from Separavi grapes grown in the Adkhoebi vineyards, which are located around the Kardanakhi village in the Alazani Valley. Pirosmani wine is made using an old traditional technique where the wine is fermented inside clay jars buried in the ground.

  • Alcohol: 10.5-12%
  • Sugar: 1.5-2.5%
  • Titrated acidity: 5-7%

Salkhino (dessert wine)

This is a dessert wine of the liqueur-type, with a rich ruby or pomegranate color. The sugar content is 30% and the alcohol 15%. The titrated acidity varies from 3 to 7 grams per liter.

It is chiefly made from Izabella grapes but certain other grapes grown in the Mayakovski district are also added, including Tsolikauri and Dzvelshava.

Salkhino has been produced since the 1920s and have won several gold medals in international contests.

Usakhelaruri (semi-sweet)

This ruby colored semi-sweet wine is made from Usakhelauri grapes. The taste is harmonious and velvety, with hints of wild strawberry.
